Not new but a goody. "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor. My kids in NZ loved it when I read it to them. I liked it because she makes a necklace out of acorns. That seemed like a neat idea. Amelia is also small enough to cool off in a pond! The package came during our reading class to the delight of everyone! Of course, we had to open it quickly! The students loved all the items and books! We've decided to read "Friend or Foe" as a read a loud during reading. We're excited to read a book about WWII from a perspective different than ours! The other two books will be read in small groups during class - we had too many people eager to read them and decided that this would be the fairest method!
