How about a timeless classic. Not new but a goody. "The Cay" by Theodore Taylor. My kids in NZ loved it when I read it to them. Probably they would have been gulity of falling into the same trap as many people and judged this book by the cover (which is less than stimulating)

Our class is reding Friend or Foe together as a class. Every time we finish a chapter we don't want to stop reading it. Also our small group is reading Horrid Harry's Stinkbomb. I think that it is really funny so far. Thank you all for sending us books.

It's Mason and Mr.Lund's class just got the books. My small group is starting to read "Horrid Henry's Stinkbomb. So far it's humorous. Our grouup thinks some for the names of the books are funny.

I'm Kaleb and have really enjoyed Amelia Jane. I liked it because she makes a necklace out of acorns. That seemed like a neat idea. Amelia is also small enough to cool off in a pond! I can't wait to read it more tomorrow because I think it will continue to be funny!

Paige & Angie

I liked the beginning of Friend or Foe. It seems like a really good book. The start caught my attention because I made a connection to the book Naria. It seems like the same thing is kinda happening. (Angie)

Amelia Jane is a doll that seems to get into a heap of trouble! She always likes to play with her friends, but when she gets around her friends she gets mean and ugly with them! When she is bad, she reminds me of my sister! :) (Paige)

Hello Reading Club!

I'm Connor and I'm Brock from Mr. Lund's Class.

In class, our reading teacher, Mrs. Larson started reading, Friend or Foe, to us. The book is already very interesting because it has a neighbor the suffered the bombing of a German plane. I was surprised to learn that the kids left their parents to live in the safety of the countryside.

In small groups we each started to read one of the other books. In my group (Connor), we started to read Amelia Jane is Naughty Again. Amelia Jane is very couragous to mess with the other animals when there is more of them than her! The book is very funny! I want to learn why she is so mean to the other animals - what did they do to her?

In my group (Brock), we read Horrid Henry. I thought it was really funny because some of the names of the book were just crazy like Happy Nappy or The Adventures of Terry the Tea Towel!

Thanks again!

Connor and Brock

ps....I still think Friend or Foe will be the best! (Connor)

THE BOOKS ARRIVED! The package came during our reading class to the delight of everyone! Of course, we had to open it quickly! The students loved all the items and books! We've decided to read "Friend or Foe" as a read a loud during reading. We're excited to read a book about WWII from a perspective different than ours! The other two books will be read in small groups during class - we had too many people eager to read them and decided that this would be the fairest method! We'll post updates about the books starting soon!

Thank you!
